The updated version of our most popular model features an external heel counter with a new emphasis on midfoot support and stability. In keeping with our last two versions we’ve extended our Flexion Fit construction to the midfoot and added a lateral support brace to maximize stability while maintaining comfort. The midsole features our FluidRide construction in the mid and forefoot which provides plush underfoot comfort. In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body."
